Margaret Poswistilo
Secretary of the Board

Peg Poswistilo has been an active member of the Easton Suburban Water Authority’s Board of Directors for more than 20 years, currently serving as the Board’s Secretary.


A native of Philadelphia, Mrs. Poswistilo completed her undergraduate studies at Rosemont College and received her Master’s Degree in English Literature from the University of Pennsylvania. While teaching in the Philadelphia school district, she attended Temple Law School at night and graduated in 1953.


 

Professionally, Mrs. Poswistilo served as Northampton County Assistant Public Defender for a period of 10 years and subsequently as a Federal Public Defender in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and has been admitted to the Supreme Court of the United States. She also was on the original Charter Commission which formed the basis of Northampton County’s current form of government.

She is a Trustee on the Hugh Moore Charitable Trust. As a member of the Easton Chapter of the American Association of University Women, she helped to establish the Chapter’s Scholarship Program and the Little Stone House Museum. She was also instrumental in reorganizing the Easton League of Women Voters and was on the Easton Human Relations Committee. She was a member of the early Board of Directors of ProJect of Easton and worked as an instructor at ProJect summer camps for inner-city children.

Mrs. Poswistilo lives in Easton with her husband. The couple have five children and four grandchildren.
