At Easton Suburban Water Authority, we are committed to monitoring the quality of your water supply.
Because of the way the water is consistently treated by the City of Easton, it is very unlikely that you
will ever experience a problem with your water. To ensure the quality of your water, each month, we collect
samples from throughout the system and test the water for:
Chlorine residual - total and free - we collect and analyze 25 samples each week
Total Coliform - we collect and analyze 25 samples each week
E. coli
Total Organic Carbon
Magnesium
Alkalinity
Total hardness
pH
Calcium
Nitrate/Nitrite as N
Iron
Total dissolved solids
Lead - (ESWA is on a reduced monitoring schedule as required by DEP because 2004 results were well
below the 0.015 mg/L level).
Copper - (ESWA is on a reduced monitoring schedule as required by DEP because 2004 results were well
below the 1.3 mg/L level).
TTHM* (ESWA is on a reduced monitoring schedule as required by DEP because 2004 results
were well below the 0.080 mg/L level.
